Good News for Coffee Drinkers!

A study published in the European Heart Journal found that people who drank coffee mainly in the morning had a lower risk of heart disease compared with people who drank coffee throughout the day or skipped coffee entirely.

Researchers tracked nearly 41,000 adults over almost 10 years and found that morning coffee drinkers were:

• 31% less likely to die from cardiovascular disease
• 16% less likely to die from any cause

Interestingly, the same benefits were not seen in people who drank coffee all day long.

Researchers believe timing may matter because late-day caffeine could disrupt sleep patterns and affect hormones and body rhythms linked to heart health.

So your morning coffee may be doing more than helping you wake up. It could also be helping your heart.
