Medaica HSA/FSA Eligibility FAQs

Are Medaica products and exams HSA/FSA eligible?

Yes. Medaica products and exams qualify as medical care expenses under IRS guidelines and are generally eligible for payment or reimbursement using HSA or FSA funds.

What if Medaica isn’t listed in my HSA/FSA eligible product directory?

Many eligible medical services and devices do not appear in merchant directories. Eligibility is based on the nature of the medical expense, and not whether a company is listed.

Can I use my HSA or FSA card to purchase Medaica products?

Not at this time. HSA and FSA cards are not yet supported at checkout. Reimbursement decisions are made by your plan administrator after you submit your itemized receipt. Medaica purchases are made using a personal credit or debit card. You can then submit your receipt to your HSA or FSA administrator for reimbursement.

Can I pay out of pocket and request HSA/FSA reimbursement later?

Yes. Pay with a personal credit or debit card and submit your itemized receipt to your HSA or FSA administrator for reimbursement.

Will Medaica provide a receipt for HSA/FSA reimbursement?

Yes. Medaica provides an itemized receipt that includes the information typically required by HSA and FSA administrators.

What documentation might my HSA/FSA administrator request?

Administrators may request your receipt and, in some cases, additional documentation confirming the medical nature of the service. Keeping your receipt is always recommended.

Do I need a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)?

In most cases, no. Medaica products and exams qualify as medical care and typically do not require a Letter of Medical Necessity.

If your HSA or FSA administrator requests additional documentation, a Letter of Medical Necessity can be facilitated by Medaica upon request at support@medaica.com or call 1-888-MEDAICA (1-888-633-422). Requirements may vary by plan.

What should I do if my reimbursement claim is denied?

If a claim is denied, you may appeal directly with your HSA or FSA administrator or choose to pay out of pocket. Denials are determined by the administrator, not Medaica.
